Temple Kol Emeth

Creating Tomorrow...Today

Our History

How We Began—Breisheit...
Temple Kol Emeth was founded in 1982 by seven families who felt the need for a Reform Jewish presence in Cobb County. We have been affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism (formerly Union of American Hebrew Congregations) since 1987.

For more than two decades, we have maintained a strong family atmosphere. Each member has a voice in the future of our community. Temple Kol Emeth congregants express that this is more than a house of prayer...it is a family and a community. This is typified by Kol Emeth's many family-oriented activities, including our annual congregational Passover Seder, Hannukah and Purim festivals, an annual day-long picnic and a week-end religious retreat each year.

On a more personal level, members are quick to respond to the needs of other congregants during times of need, and newcomers find they are quickly drawn into the Kol Emeth family.

Who We Are

A Jewish Community
Temple Kol Emeth participates in a meaningful, joyful, and progressive Jewish life. We are guided by the traditions and values of the Reform Movement. At the same time, we are the home to many of Cobb County’s Jews and therefore, we honor and celebrate a range of sacred Jewish practices. We nurture and encourage all who wish to infuse their lives with Jewish learning, t’filah (prayer), and g’milut chasadim (worthy deeds).

A Community of Friends
We are egalitarian, promoting the participation of both genders equally in all aspects of worship and leadership. Our diversity embraces those who are married and single; straight and gay; intermarried and interracial. Our congregation is enriched by the experiences of young and old learning and praying together.

A Community for Learning
Temple Kol Emeth is engaged in deepening our knowledge of Jewish life and in the constant evolution of Jewish practice. We are committed to supporting our children and our children’s children and their full participation in the Jewish community.

A Community for Healing the World—Tikkun Olam
By advocating Jewish values and social justice within our community, around our country, and around the world, we reach out with one of our core strengths creating a wealth of legacy for our families and our community.

Our Future Together

A legacy gift enables you to express your personal connection to our synagogue. Create a Jewish Legacy is designed to help you and your family support the Jewish causes you care about, namely Temple Kol Emeth.

The goal of our legacy program is to provide our congregants with the opportunity to remember Temple Kol Emeth in their wills, for the benefit of our community, ensuring our existence for generations to come.

Our endowment fund allows Temple Kol Emeth to continue to deliver the spiritual, educational and social programming you and your family value so highly. The more families participating in the legacy program and honoring the Jewish traditions of the past, the more stable our future becomes. By creating your Jewish Legacy today, you provide for the Temple Kol Emeth of tomorrow.
