Temple Emanu-El

Who We Are

Temple Emanu-El was founded in 1978 by a small group of families with a beautiful vision: to create a spiritual home where they and their children could live and learn as Jews. Today, it is our challenge to keep this vision alive.

Temple Emanu-El has continued to evolve, meeting the growing needs of our congregation’s families. Originally designed for about 450 families, we continue to grow by welcoming new members into our Jewish home today and in the future.

Our congregation is dedicated to upholding the principles of Reform Judaism and Jewish family values. We are deeply committed to Tikkun Olam — Repairing the World — through our ethical and social responsibilities to our community, our world and the land of Israel.

Established “For Us and our Children,” Temple Emanu-El has created many ways for our congregants to participate, to learn, to grow and to connect to God, Torah and the Jewish people. Our mission today continues with these founding principles:

  • Fostering Jewish identity
  • Providing youth and adult Jewish education
  • Encouraging ritual practices and observances
  • Creating social responsibility and action
  • Fostering Jewish family values
  • Ensuring that Temple Emanu-El continues to thrive for future generations

Our Pledge

The founders of Temple Emanu-El have provided us with a foundation and a vision, but we must work together to build our own future to ensure that our pledge, “For Us and Our Children,” endures.

Please consider including Temple Emanu-El in your will or estate plans. Your commitment will help ensure that all who seek a Jewish education and wish to enter our sanctuary for prayer and celebration are able to do so. By making Temple Emanu-El a part of your family’s legacy, you will pave the way for future generations, m’dor l’dor, to learn and worship at our k’helah kedosha, holy community.

We invite you to become a member of the TE Legacy Society by making a bequest in your Will or including Temple Emanu-El as a beneficiary of your Trust, IRA or Life Insurance Policy. In addition to the personal satisfaction of giving tzedakah, planned gifts offer opportunities to minimize your federal and state taxes.

The TE Legacy Society honors the dream of our founders by recognizing those individuals who have taken steps to secure our future. If you have already provided for Temple Emanu-El in your estate plans, we look forward to welcoming you into this distinguished circle of friends.

Join us as we pave the way for future generations at Temple Emanu-El.
