Hillels of Georgia

Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life provides opportunities for Jewish students to explore and celebrate their Jewish identity. College years are a very vulnerable time for Jewish youth and Hillel is working to provoke a renaissance of Jewish life.

Hillel’s mission is to enrich the lives of Jewish undergraduate and graduate students so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world. Hillel student leaders, professionals and lay leaders are dedicated to creating a pluralistic, welcoming and inclusive environment for Jewish college students, where they are encouraged to grow intellectually, spiritually and socially. We help students find a balance in being distinctively Jewish and universally human and is committed to excellence, innovation, accountability, and results.

Hillels of Georgia’s five campuses have been a home for more than 6,000 Jewish college students across Georgia for more than 15 years. Each Jewish student is treated with respect and their traditions and Jewish values are honored as we encourage them to add their voice to the Jewish narrative.

Hillels of Georgia provides more than 500 programs annually in five “pillars”:

5. Leadership Development

Hillels of Georgia serves as the connecting point for Jewish students and thousands of Jewish and non-Jewish individuals in the campus and surrounding communities. It is the leading comprehensive and pluralistic Jewish organization on campuses in Georgia, assuring our community the highest standards of service, programs and administration.

Over the course of its history, Hillel has adapted to meet the changing needs of students, leading them to create their own independent Jewish thinking. Students, parents, alumni, and the community know that Hillel is and will be the foundation for Jewish students to be productive citizens of the world and supporters of Jewish life.

Through the creation of a legacy commitment to Hillels of Georgia’s endowment you will enable the organization to maintain and deliver the high standards of service and provide the financial flexibility for Hillels of Georgia to venture into expanded levels of services as the future will demand. Endowment funds are an essential component of operations and will foster the future growth of Jewish communities around the country.

Hillels of Georgia is committed to creating a “human endowment” consisting of students who eventually will become leaders in their communities. Your legacy commitment to Hillel will directly support the Jewish leaders and philanthropists of the future.

Create a Jewish Legacy is an initiative of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta to build a strong, vibrant community, now and in the future with bequests for permanent endowments. It promotes the message that all of us, regardless of age, wealth, or affiliation, have the ability to make a difference for future Jewish generations. As the central umbrella organization for Jewish Atlanta, it makes sense for Federation to lead this program on behalf of the entire community.
